By Bobby and Misty Hilkey
Good morning, church family. My name is Bobby. This is my wife, Misty. We’ve had the privilege of serving here at Parkway for almost ten years now. Our topic is evangelism. Evangelism is the spread of Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness. This is found in Matthew 28.
It says, therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.
Evangelism is such an important part of our Christian walk. First, because right there in Matthew, Jesus commanded us to do it, but also because it should be in our heart and our desire to not hold our faith that we have in Jesus to ourselves.
But we want to share that with everybody else. So, we just want to be united in this. We want the community to be united in this. And we would like to pray with you about reaching other people for the goodness of the kingdom. It says in 1 Peter 3, but in your hearts Revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have, but do this with gentleness and respect.
So as we go out into our community and as we do evangelism, just, be united in the word and keep Jesus first.
Heavenly father, I come to you this morning just to thank you for your goodness and your glory. Lord, I pray that you just rise up all of your people right now in Jesus name, to go forth and spread the gospel. Lord, to reach just one more, to go out in our community in Grants Pass and to go forth in our United States and then in the world, Lord, to just spread the gospel to the darkest and to the happiest places in the world like they need you, father.
Just rise them up and let it be. In Jesus name, Amen.
