Legacy

Remembering the Past. Building the Future.

1920s

In 1921, a small group of Grants Pass residents from various Pentecostal groups, seeking more of God, started holding Sunday school and Prayer Meetings in private homes.

As they grew, they desired a more permanent location. They hired their first official pastor and incorporated with the State of Oregon as the “Full Gospel Temple” in 1927.

The first property owned by the church was at the corner of eighth and "E" Streets. The church building located on this property was remodeled and expanded to accommodate growth until it was determined that a new location was needed. At that time the church looked to the eastern gate of the city and purchased the property the congregation presently occupies.

1970s

On February 10th, 1977, the congregation held ground-breaking ceremonies for a new church in our current location. This new facility (completed in March of 1978) consisted of a Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, and Children's wings.

1990s

In 1999, Parkway Christian Center added the Hull Center, a facility dedicated to youth ministry which contains a gym, full service kitchen, and rooms and offices for our Youth Department.
